The rain has finally stopped and we had a beautiful, warm (high 60's) day today. We went out this afternoon to see what Spokane has to offer. First we visited the Davenport Hotel. This hotel is on the list of "Historic Hotels of America". It's very old and luxurious.
Then we visited the site of the 1974 World's Fair (Expo '74). It is right near the Spokane River. We had a relaxing afternoon walking around the Riverfront Park. The clock tower has been there since 1902. It was part of the Great Northern Railroad Depot. The park is really pretty with a 1909 hand-carved historic carousel and many walking paths and benches to sit on to enjoy the view.
